OLN: State of the Project
So needless to say, it's been a while. A lot longer than any of us would have liked honestly. I wanted to wait until I could definitively say news on the status of the project. If I may be allowed a quick rant, when I first started this project I thought it would just be something cool and simple to work on that other people could enjoy with me. It still is in a way, but I 100% underestimated the sheer effort it requires to lead a team project with so many people working on it. Having to coordinate everybody in order to make sure things get done but as to also not put pressure on them since we're all friends and this is a pet project is harder than it sounds and looks. Rant aside, I'm sorry about the lack of communication and actual content updates from us. Life has been fast and hard for all of us on the team. If I were to summarize everything that has transpired without saying what happened to who: new partners, ex-partners, moving out (both to nearby cities and cross country), near-evictions, monetary debt, new jobs with new hours, horrible sicknesses, and that's just the highlights. Now that things are in a more stable place for everyone, we've started our efforts to get shit back on track.
Which leads me to our next point of where things stand in terms of development. To start, the scripts for our next two Lost Entries, Identity (with Marshall) and Stand (with Treat), as well as the script for Build 6 are all fully written and edited. Each of them is longer than any updates or Lost Entries we've put out so far and I'm excited to see what everyone thinks. Additionally, I've also started the script for Build 7 while the rest of the project is being worked on by the other members. The art is going at a slow but steady pace, hence the promo art release, as well as we've brought Alex (who did the backgrounds for Birthday) on to start work on completely replacing our previous backgrounds. Additionally, we now have a BlueSky which you can follow here.
That about sums up everything I have to say for now, so we hope to bring a sizable update for you all to read very soon!
